Este trilho que percorre o território da união de freguesias de Chamoim e Vilar, traduz-se num percurso rural que confere um reconhecimento da utilidade e valor das antigas redes viárias caídas em desuso, tais como os caminhos de pé posto e os caminhos agrícolas lajeados.
As linhas de água, as levadas, os poços, os regadios e os moinhos-de-água, no seu conjunto, constituem autênticas relíquias da arquitetura popular de tempos remotos.
O Trilho dos Moinhos e Regadios Tradicionais inclui um pequeno troço da Via Militar Romana XVIII do Itinerário Antonino, mais conhecida por Geira, entre as milhas XXI e XXII. Em alguns pontos, ainda é possível observar restos da calçada e muros em alvenaria granítica.
This trail that runs through the union of the parishes of Chamoim and Vilar, it translates into a rural route that recognizes the usefulness and value of old road networks that have fallen into disuse, such as footpaths and paved agricultural paths.
The water lines, the levadas, the wells, the irrigation systems and the water mills, as a whole, constitute authentic relics of popular architecture from ancient times.
The Trail of Moinhos e Regadios Tradicionais includes a small section of
Roman Military WayXVIII of the Antonino Route, better known as Geira, between Miles XXI and XXII. At some points, it is still possible to observe remains of the sidewalk and walls in granite masonry.
